This schist is a metamorphic stone shaped by immense pressure and slow transformation deep within the Earth’s crust. Its defining feature is foliation—distinct layers that form as minerals like mica align under heat and stress, creating a natural grain that looks almost like pages pressed together in stone. Depending on its composition, schist can shimmer subtly with mica flecks, giving it a soft metallic sparkle when it catches light. Tones range from silvery gray and deep charcoal to greenish or earthy brown, often with a textured, directional flow that feels almost woven. In a curated collection, schist feels raw and geological—less polished “crystal shop” and more “field specimen.” It carries the story of mountains forming, shifting, and being rewritten over millions of years.
